I Roggeborgen hade Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s gymnasium och l\u00e4roverk sin verksamhet fr\u00e5n 1626 till 1935. H\u00e4r finns bl.a. s\u00e4llsynta verk fr\u00e5n boktryckarkonstens barndom, medeltida brev, musiktryck, handskrifter, kartor och dissertationer (\u00e4ldre avhandlingar).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Efter inf\u00f6rlivandet i KB 1968 har samlingarna i Roggebiblioteket v\u00e4xt genom ett flertal donationer. Den sista \u2013 och kanske viktigaste \u2013 var familjen Wrangels boksamling fr\u00e5n S\u00e4by g\u00e5rd, Asp\u00f6, som kom till biblioteket 2006. Detta vackra herrg\u00e5rdsbibliotek rymmer omkring 5000 volymer, daterade fr\u00e5n 1400-tal till 2000-tal.<\/p>\n<p>I Roggeborgen finns ocks\u00e5 Kungliga bibliotekets bokbinderi, som f\u00f6rser b\u00f6cker och tidskrifter med skyddsomslag.<\/p>\n<p>Roggebiblioteket \u00e4r framf\u00f6r allt ett forskningsbibliotek, men kan i viss utstr\u00e4ckning ta emot grupper f\u00f6r visningar. De \u00e4ldsta b\u00f6ckerna i samlingen kom till domkyrkan genom donationer fr\u00e5n biskopar, pr\u00e4ster och privatpersoner. Med tiden ut\u00f6kades samlingen genom ink\u00f6p och g\u00e5vor. En stor del av biblioteket best\u00e5r av bokliga krigsbyten som tagits fr\u00e5n jesuitkollegier, kloster och privata bibliotek p\u00e5 kontinenten under 1600-talets krig. Under Johannes Matthiaes tid som biskop i Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s (1643\u201364) hade biblioteket sin storhetstid.
